ThemeSelection Review

When you build applications or websites for a living, you know that time is money, and you also know that recreating the wheel for every new project is not the most cost-effective or efficient way to get work done.

ThemeSelection is a resource that will help you automate key parts of the development process. It provides easy-to-use and fully coded admin dashboard themes and UI kits that feature modern, quality designs. ThemeSelection’s products help you kickstart projects and build backend components faster.

About ThemeSelection

ThemeSelection sells admin dashboard templates and user interface kits that developers and designers can use to jumpstart the application development process. All of the products ThemeSelection offers are backend solutions that come fully coded and are customizable and scalable.

ThemeSelection offers templates in HTML and frameworks like Laravel, Vue, Bootstrap, and React. UI kits come in both Sketch and Figma variations. All ThemeSelection products are designed to be quickly implemented and require developer-level knowledge to use.

ThemeSelection Health and Stability

ThemeSelection was founded in 2011 in India by two software engineers. Today, the India-based company has 12 team members, ten based in Ahmedabad and two in remote, unspecified locations. ThemeSelection is privately held, with no public information about financing, annual revenue, or other relevant information.

Despite being around for over a decade, there are no reviews on the most popular software review sites like G2, Capterra, or TrustPilot. The only public reviews available are on the company’s own website, which inherently calls into question the veracity of the reviews.

ThemeSelection sells transactional-based products at relatively low price points. Its website focuses primarily on the visual side of its offerings, with limited emphasis on details or resources. An example is the Knowledge Base and Affiliate Program menu options. Both are marked as coming soon. But for a 10+-year-old company, you’d think this would be something they’ve dialed in by now.

The overall image is of a company that might be great at its niche products but could just as easily disappear overnight. Given the lack of transparency combined with non-existent customer reviews on trusted public review sites, we give ThemeSelection a grade of C for health and stability.

ThemeSelection Pricing

ThemeSelection offers à la carte and bundled purchase options. At first glance, the pricing seems fairly cheap for both. However, as you dig into the details, you’ll find that the pricing increases depending on how you plan to use the products.

This isn’t an unusual strategy for this type of product. You’ll find licensing-based pricing strategies for many products that get incorporated into bigger projects. Stock image sites take a similar approach. Depending on how you intend to use ThemeSelection products, you may find them a great value or beyond your budget.

You will also find free versions of some of its products. However, if you go the free route, you must provide attribution to ThemeSelections in the final product, which seems fair.

ThemeSelection Pricing Structure

The primary way ThemeSelection prices its products—both individual items and bundles—is on a tiered plan system. It offers four different plans, including:

  • Single Use: You can use the purchased product for one project, but it cannot be SaaS-based.
  • Multiple Use: You can use the purchased product on unlimited projects, but none can be SaaS-based.
  • Extended Use: You can use the purchased product for one project, including SaaS projects.
  • Unlimited Use: You can use the purchased product for unlimited projects, including SaaS projects.

The price for individual ThemeSelection products ranges from $49 to $69 for single use, $129 for multiple use, $299 for extended use, and $499 for unlimited use.

If you go the bundled route, expect to pay $129 for single use, $169 for multiple use, $399 for extended use, and $599 for unlimited use. These prices all reflect a ThemeSelection sale running at the time of this review.

All prices include taxes and fees and are one-time payments.

ThemeSelection Trials and Guarantees

You can download any of the ThemeSelection free products anytime. If you choose to use them in your project, you’ll need to provide attribution.

There are no free demos of the premium/pro versions of any product. You can download a free version, but you’ll need to buy the product with payment upfront to get the full functionality.

ThemeSelect offers a 14-day refund policy if the product is not as advertised, doesn’t function like the demo version, or you have trouble installing or using the product. The wording of this guarantee is a little wishy-washy, though. They state they will try and resolve your issue first but refund your money if they can’t find a resolution.

ThemeSelection Overview

ThemeSelection can be a good asset for developers to have in their toolkits. The templates and UI kits streamline the development process and speed up project delivery.

One key feature is the ability to make frontend and backend integration easier. This alleviates a struggle many developers face when building applications.

Let’s take a deeper dive into ThemeSelection’s products.

Admin Dashboard Templates

All ThemeSelections admin dashboard templates are easy to use, production-ready, and customizable. You can white-label them, and no attribution is required if you are using the paid version.

ThemeSelection offers a variety of prebuilt, customizable, and scalable admin dashboards.

Admin dashboard templates are available in the most popular developer frameworks, including Bootstrap, React, NextJS, Vuejs, Laravel, and .NET Core. Seven free templates and 11 paid (premium/pro) versions are available.

The templates all feature clean and colorful designs. As you’d expect, the free versions offer limited customization, but you will get a collection of basic, pre-built pages to expedite the development process.

If you go with a premium/pro version of any templates, you’ll get much more flexibility. All paid templates feature multiple layout options, including horizontal/vertical and light/dark choices.

The premium versions also offer a starter kit option to install just the basics and add features later. This eliminates the need to start with everything and remove unnecessary features as you go, which can be a huge time saver.

You’ll also get different application templates with the pro version of each template. Things like calendars, chats, emails, invoices, and users can all be quickly added with just a few clicks. Widgets, cards, UI components, charts, and pages are also included.

The only downside is that if you don’t like the templates available on the framework you use, you will have to spend time customizing everything to your preferences. This obviously reduces some of the value of using a template in the first place.

But if you’re good with the look and feel out of the box, then the admin dashboard templates are a significant time saver.

The admin dashboard themes price ranges from $49 to $69 for a single-use license. Other options include $129 for multiple use, $299 for extended use, and $499 for unlimited use. This is all one-time payment pricing.

UI Kits

ThemeSelection’s user interface kits are based on two of the most popular design tools on the market today—Figma and Sketch. Whether you’re Team Sketch or Team Figma, you can expedite the look and feel of your apps quickly and easily.

There is a free avatar library available for all UI kits.

ThemeSelection makes it easy to design the look and feel of a project with UI kits.

ThemeSelection offers one free Figma-based option—the Figma Bootstrap 5 UI Kit. There are two paid versions, including Sneat Figma Admin UI Kit and Materio Figma Admin UI Kit.

As you’d expect, the free Figma option is less robust than its paid counterparts. However, you get 300+ Bootstrap 5 components and drag-and-drop functionality to build your Figma project quickly. You also get auto layout and the ability to resize any component vertically or horizontally with ease quickly.

The paid Figma versions offer a large number of unique layouts and light/dark color schemes and multiple application templates for calendars, chat, email, invoices, Kanban, roles/permissions, and users. You can also choose from Sneat or Materio design systems.

If you prefer Sketch, ThemeSelection has one free and one pro option. The free Sketch Bootstrap 5 UI Kit offers 300+ Bootstrap 5 components, smart layout functionality, and a helpful resizing feature.

When you move to the paid version, Sneat-Sketch Admin UI Kit gives you six unique layouts, a smart layout tool, all Sketch elements like typography, tables, charts, and form wizards, searchable and importable components, and global border radius settings.

Bundle

ThemeSelection also offers a Celebration Big Bundle package that includes 12+ premium templates and 30+ dashboard layouts. You also get 200+ pages, 300+ reusable components and UI elements, 500+ widgets, 2 UI kids, and more.

Basically, ThemeSelection throws in nearly everything, including the kitchen sink, for one price. This gives developers and agencies that work with multiple clients on multiple simultaneous projects all the diverse tools they need to get jobs done quickly and efficiently.

Pricing for the Celebration Big Bundle is $129 for a single use license. Other options include $169 for multiple use, $399 for extended use, and $599 for unlimited use. All pricing is based on a one-time payment. These prices reflect a sale of up to 85% off the regular bundle price, which was in effect at the time of this review.

ThemeSelection Reputation

This is where things get tricky. The only reviews available online for ThemeSelection come from the company’s website—a questionable source to be sure. All the five-star reviews found there rave about how great the company and its products are.

Yes, the verified purchasers identified there—even with photographs—may be legitimate customers. Or they could be a marketing ploy. We’ll never know.

It would be far more reassuring to see those same reviews on independent sites like G2, Capterra, and TrustPilot. Even Google would be a step up. Unfortunately, there just aren’t ThemeSelection reviews on any external sites we looked at.

This could be because developers are the primary purchasers of ThemeSelection products, and they just don’t leave reviews on consumer-facing sites all that often. So, let’s give ThemeSelection the benefit of the doubt.

We can take the absence of negative reviews on trusted third-party review sites as a sign that ThemeSelection customers are a generally satisfied bunch. Add in that ThemeSelection offers a 14-day refund policy and 12 months of free premium customer support for its paid products, and that may well be the case.

Final Verdict

Shortening the development cycle means good things to your bottom line if you’re a developer, designer, or agency that builds apps for customers. Automating basic functionality is one way to do that.

ThemeSelection offers an affordable and streamlined way to automate the backend design function with its admin dashboard templates and UI kits. Their product offering covers all the most popular frameworks and design tools, and the price point is reasonable, too.
