2. Create a Twitter account with your company name.
3. Create a Twitter account with a false name.

Why Would I Create A Twitter Account with a false name?

Well it all depends on what it is that you will end up marketing on Twitter. For example if you’re looking at affiliate marketing on Twitter then you’ll probably want to make up a profile specifically for the Twitter marketing. Don’t worry, there’s nothing shady about this, it’s just to draw people in. You’ll want to create a profile that is friendly and helpful, and it’s also essential that you upload an avatar or profile picture. This can be you, your company logo or a made-up-person. We don’t recommend you adding any kind of cartoon images, pictures of money etc. because people will instantly turn away from you. It screams a Twitter marketing avoid from a mile away.

Ok, what’s the next step in my Twitter marketing campaign?

Make your profile look appropriate, add a nice background, don’t stick with one of the Twitter default backgrounds…create something yourself or find something that’s interesting. You need to appear to be human when Twitter marketing because ultimately, you are. Then before you start following people you’ll want to add some tweets to your profile to show that you are a human and that you’re not a spammer or anything of that sort, so people will be more likely to follow you. Start off with something like:

“Ok, I’m on Twitter! Looking forward to getting to know some new people.”

(This says that you’re a normal person and are in no way part of Twitter marketing)

Be positive, people are attracted to it. Once you have 5-10 interesting and relatable tweets on there, you’ll need to follow people as the next stage of your Twitter marketing plan.
